Plup Pla Bay (Patok Bay or West Bay)
The name Plup Pla comes from the Thai word for a royal residence, as there was a royal encampment there during the reign of King Rama the 6th.
Generally the sand is quite fine here. The mouth of the bay is shaped like a bottle’s neck. The sea bottom is pan-shaped. Sitting on the beach while facing west is an ideal location for watching the sunset. During the monsoon, it is not advisable to play in the water, yet it is a popular spot for experienced surfers.
